Marc Elrich, County Executive, signed the Racial Equity and Social Justice Bill, making Montgomery County the first in Maryland to do so.
The Office of Racial Equity and Social Justice (ORESJ), created in 2019, is a county-wide office focused on advancing racial equity and dismantling structural racism within County Government.
